OGS Events

Plan activities to support civic participation and education such as a voter registration drive or a civics-themed trivia night.

The Lacey Historical Society is sponsoring a “Community Celebration of America 250 and Lacey 60” event. See their event page. See their event flyer.

OGS will have a Drop-In Genealogy (DIG) session at the event for anyone wishing to discuss their genealogy.  See the DIG events (at the Tumwater Timberland Library) on our Events page for more information about how DIG works.

Museums across the state of Washington will offer free or discounted admission and display their project for the statewide Out of Many, One exhibition project.

On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Celebrate Independence Day with your fellow Americans!

Organize service projects or volunteer for a local cause. Anyone can participate on any date in 2026—June 14 is just a suggestion!
